NEWS: Online Courses, Videos and New Posting Schedule

The Special Tactics Staff is planning a number of new initiatives and training opportunities for 2018. Here is the summary of what you can expect to see...

New Article Posting and Discussion Schedule

To the best of our ability, we are going to try to post a new blog article every Sunday, covering the issues that would be the most useful and interesting to our readers. In addition, each Thursday we are going to post a new discussion topic, similar to the "debates" we have hosted in the past. Without revealing any sensitive information, we encourage people to share their opinions on our Facebook feed. In keepings with last week's article about how to have a useful tactical discussion/debate, the goal is not to find the "right" answer or to "win," but rather to capture the key points of each side of the argument. We will then compile these points and post them on our site so people can reference them in the future. These references will prove particularly useful for less experienced tacticians who are seeking to deepen their professional knowledge. If anyone has suggestions for discussion topics, please send them to staff@specialtactics.me.

Online Courses

Starting with Single-Person CQB and Two-Person CQT, Special Tactics is currently developing online courses that will provide an integrated, multimedia learning experience to compliment the existing Special Tactics manuals. The online courses will provide learning and teaching materials that will prove useful to both instructors and individual learners. The courses will include presentation tools (similar to PowerPoint), animated demonstration videos, a smartphone learning app, instructor teaching notes, discussion guidelines, audio podcasts, printable references and interactive tests/quizzes.

Videos

In conjunction with the online courses, we have commissioned a series of live instructional videos that will be offered in DVD format and through a digital subscription service. Once again, these videos will compliment the existing suite of books and learning materials.

Other Plans Currently in Development

Above is only a brief overview of what you can expect from us in 2018. We also have plans to take more advantage of some of our other social media channels and we have a variety of ideas for membership programs and live tactics seminars. We will keep you updated so stay tuned and feel free to reach out to us at staff@specialtactics.me if you have any questions or suggestions.
